As director of The British Camerata, a period string ensemble with solo singer(s), we explore repertoire which draws on the inherent qualities of the Italian School. Programmes have included cantatas and oratorios by A. Scarlatti and Handel, as well as instrumental items by Frescobaldi, Corelli and D. Scarlatti.
My Wingate research has also provided a foundation for my work as a conductor, opera / vocal coach, teacher at the Royal Academy of Music, research assistant to Trevor Pinnock, and occasional writer. As such, I am deeply indebted to the Wingate Foundation for their invaluable support.
Thank you very much
As a Post Script in April I will be releasing my first solo harpsichord disc featuring the music of James Nares on the Queen's harpsichord with Avie Records (http://www.avierecords.com)?
