My Wingate Scholarship provided me with the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of the difference between the teaching and practice of Contemporary and Ballet techniques.
This has been extremely valuable on many occasions, especially when running the Hammond School in Chester, where Contemporary Dance and Ballet are taught and knowledge of both techniques is essential. I have also given Classical Ballet class to Contemporary companies, most recently Michael Clark’s Company.

Since being given the Scholarship, I have mounted dance productions in Japan, Norway and the UK, reviewed Dance Academies for the Dutch Government and served as an advisor on the Arts Council Dance Panel and the Board of Scottish Ballet.

Current activities include:
Director of Training – British Ballet Organisation
Artistic Director – Molly Lake Award
Vice President – All England Dance Competition
Patron – Yorkshire Ballet Scholars and Kate Simmonds Vocational School

I also have articles printed in the Dancing Times.
