Having left Cambridge University, Elizabeth was funded by the Wingate Foundation to study singing with Patricia MacMahon at the RSAMD. She did four years’ training there, graduating with a Distinction in her Master of Opera degree. Winner of numerous prizes and awards, including Maggie Teyte Prize 2001 and Handel Singing Competition 2003, Elizabeth was a Company Principle at WNO for two years, where roles included Pamina, Mozart’s Countess, Donna Elvira and Micaela. She regularly appears in recital and on the concert platform and has performed at all the major British concert venues under conductors such as Mackerras, Boulez, Pappano, Hickox and Belohlavek. She has broadcast numerous times on Radio 3, including live from the Wigmore Hall and recitals in the Voices series, and recently released her first recital disc, Classic Children’s Songs, with Roderick Williams and Iain Burnside. Future engagements include Pamina (Grange Park); Helena (Opera North); Messiah in Milan; Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Philharmonia under Mackerras.
