When I was awarded the Wingate Scholarship, the funding enabled me to pursue my conducting studies. I completed my studies at the Curtis Institute of Music and following that, at the Juilliard School of Music. Following that, I won the position of Assistant Conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, a position I held for 2 years. I am currently about to begin my 3rd season as Music Director and conductor of both the El Paso Symphony Orchestra, Texas, and the Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra, South Carolina, in the United States of America. In June 2007, I conducted the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in a recording for a CD published in 2007. I guest conduct other orchestras regularly and my schedule and biography can be viewed on my website. I would like to thank Wingate Scholarships for their support of my studies which have born me wonderful opportunities and have led to a wonderful career thus far.
My husband, Scot Hartman, and I are the proud parents of Audrey Rose Ioannides Hartman, their first child, born February 12th.
